The song “I Can’t Remember To Forget You” was originally written by Jeff and Debra Lyn for her artist project.
In May 2010 Nashville, Tennessee was deluged by 13 and a half inches of rain that fell over the course of 2 days. The resulting floods were devastating and affected 48 counties in Tennessee. Countless homes were destroyed and 23 people lost their lives.
Since news of the flood was not widely publicized, Debra and Jeff partnered with Nashville photographer and filmmaker, Stacie Huckeba to create the documentary to raise awareness to help bring support to some of the people that were still struggling 5 months after the flood. The documentary featured Stacie’s footage, interviews and stills taken during the aftermath as well as interviews with Terri Brinegar, a Nashville resident whose home was severely damaged and an interview with Stacie regarding her experiences.
“I Can’t Remember To Forget You” seemed the appropriate title song for the documentary. A video for this song and the intro. footage for the documentary was also produced, directed and filmed by Shari Belafonte and Sam Behrens for Sowelu Entertainment.
The music for the documentary was composed by Los Angeles composers Elik Alvarez and Freddy Sheinfeld and Nashville composer, Paul Rucker. The documentary was narrated by Debra Lyn.
